Robert J. Spencer
Spinfast founder Robert J. Spencer (aka Rj or Ahrjay) is a game industry veteran with a wide range of strategic, sales and business development experience.
With Spinfast, he has launched his second active game studio in Western Australia, having blazed the way for high-end game development in the State by co-founding and establishing Interzone Entertainment — a multinational, triple-A game studio — in Perth in 2006.
Before he began jump-starting game studios, Robert was the Strategic Business Manager of BigWorld, where he worked with numerous developers on a range of massively multiplayer online games, continuing a long association with online game development that started with a groundbreaking prototype in 1995. He has also launched and published (and, at times, edited and managed) three high-quality computer games magazines and accompanying websites, including Australian PC Gamer and PC Games Plus, a title simultaneously published in the US, UK, Australia and Canada.
Robert was once crowned Cyber World Leader by Anthill magazine. Along with his ongoing efforts to ship a massively multiplayer soccer game at Interzone, he is currently President of game studio Spinfast, CEO of digital infrastructure software developer Binary Culture, Chairman of the International Game Developers Association's Perth Chapter, Chairman of the Nullarbor games competition, and he sits on several advisory boards including WA's Innovation Advisory Panel and the Leading Lights Organising Committee.
