Kolkata Now Available

Cricket Game News - Mon, 08/08/2011 - 4:24pm
Posted By: Rj

The latest addition to the Spinfast Shop is a free download of the Kolkata ground. Fully playable with no restrictions at all, this free ground is being released at no charge as part of our apology for the problems that some users have been having purchasing Bowling in the Shop over the past couple of months.

Kolkata is a spin-friendly ground that is often a good hunting ground for batsmen, with some very high scores being recorded.

To download Kolkata, just tap on “Spinfast Shop” from the main menu and you can find it in Featured Products. Requires Cricket 2.7.43 or greater.

Cricket 2.7.43 is now Live

Cricket Game News - Thu, 04/08/2011 - 4:51pm

Cricket 2.7.43 has now been approved by Apple and is live in the App Store. I would like to urge everyone to upgrade, as it fixes all known bugs in 2.6 (including the upgrade and shop bugs) and also adds several new features:

  • Direct the throws of your fielders to the batsman’s or bowler’s end.
  • Fielders move more realistically.
  • We handle the end of play better so the fielders are a little less excitable.
  • CPU batsman will now risk runs on overthrows.
  • CPU bowlers also handle ground conditions better.
  • Upgraded shop appearance and item descriptions.

As always, if you have any issues please let us know.

Cricket 2.7 Release Candidate 2

Cricket Game News - Fri, 22/07/2011 - 12:03am
Posted By: Rj

Cricket 2.7 RC2 is now in the hands of our beta test team, including fixes for the handful of issues that were raised from RC1.

We are very excited that we are so close to uploading this new version to Apple and are still hopeful that we will be able to do it this week. However, we remain committed to our quality assurance program and will be waiting to hear back from our testers. There are no new features going into 2.7 at this stage, we are simply polishing the game and making sure that any bugs the testers discover while playing Cricket are correctly resolved.

Cricket 2.7 Release Candidate 1

Cricket Game News - Fri, 15/07/2011 - 5:09pm
Posted By: Rj

Just a quick announcement that I’ve just released Cricket 2.7 RC1 to the beta testers. Hopefully, if everything goes well with the testing, we should be uploading this new version to Apple next week.

Cricket 2.7 features an all-new shop that is designed to withstand all of Apple’s and iTunes’s quirks. It also has new gameplay features focussed around the fielding:

  • When you’re fielding you can now pick which end to throw in to, so you can get out that laggardly runner.
  • Fielders now have a sense of urgency when running for the ball. If they think they can make the catch or save an extra run, they’ll put a little more effort in.
  • The fielding team can now work together more cohesively (well, the better teams do anyway) and back each other up more completely, anticipating various options for what might happen next.
  • Fielders no longer throw the ball at the wickets needlessly.
  • Wides are now called by the umpire if the ball bounces more than twice.
    • And the bowlers try much harder to avoid it happening.

We’ll keep you informed of progress through testing as we get closer to release.
